No transfer of right of interment is allowed without prior consent of the Department of Catholic Cemeteries, Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery Board of Directors, or the cemetery manager. Deeds of grant cannot be resold except to Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery. No purchaser may sell the right of interment for profit.

Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery is the property of the Diocese of Laredo and remains such. By selling the right of interment, the Diocese of Laredo, The Department of Catholic Cemeteries and Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery do not relinquish the right of ownership. All interments are subject to the laws of the Roman Catholic Church. The Cemetery hereby reserves the right to adopt additional rules and regulations or to amend, alter or repeal any rule, regulation, paragraph or sentence in these Rules and Regulations at any time.

A Concrete outer burial container is required for all burials in Cemetery 5.

Ashes from Cremations must be buried in the ground in a concrete box or placed in a cremains niche and may not be scattered over any grave site. Engraving of Niche Covers will be of predetermined uniform size and style. Each Niche cover will be inscribed only with the name(s) and dates of birth and death of the deceased. No other inscription will be permitted. No flowers, flags, decorations or other memorabilia will be permitted inside or outside the Columbarium.
The Cemetery retains the absolute Right, in its discretion, to remove containers of cremains, niches and niche covers and to relocate all or any part of the Columbarium (including niches) as it may deem necessary or advisable. If it is necessary to relocate an existing niche for any reason, the church will provide another niche for the cremains and will endeavor to advise the next of kin of the new location and the reason for the transfer.

In compliance with cemetery regulations, the casket is required to remain closed upon arrival at the cemetery.

No construction, landscaping, or similar work is allowed in the cemetery without permit. The cemetery reserves the right to remove all trees and other plants when deemed necessary. Items planted become the property of the cemetery.

Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery reserves the right to remove all curbs, stones or borders which may be hazardous to the general public or to the employees.

No markers or monuments are to be installed unless all monies owed to the cemetery are paid. (With the exception of temporary funeral homes markers). All monuments and markers must be erected with a cemetery permit and are subject to sizes and types specified in the permit.

The placement of flowers is restricted only to the vases on the monument. When there are no vases, you can place the flowers at the head of the grave buried in the ground. All other flowers will be removed at the discretion of the cemetery management. No flowers may be buried in cans or vases. All flowers in the cemetery will be picked up on cemetery clean-up day.

No secular decorations such as balloons, toys, Styrofoam, easels (stands), etc. are allowed in the cemetery. Such items can and will be removed immediately without any notice to the plot owner.

Loitering is not allowed in the cemetery. Those visiting the cemetery shall not create a disturbance either by action or noise.

Playing instruments and singing at funeral services is limited to religious hymns and cannot be of a secular nature.

Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery will take all reasonable precautions to protect lot owners, and the right of lot owners within the cemetery from loss or damage; but the Cemetery disclaims all responsibility for loss or damage from causes beyond its reasonable control.

It is the duty of the lot owner to notify the Cemetery of any change in his post office address.

Members of other Faith (Religions) are allowed to be buried in the Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery under the direction of the Diocese of Laredo and implementing Canon Law.
No Funeral Services will be held on Sundays, Christmas Day, or Good Friday.
